Hi everyone from China!

Hi everyone from Beijing!

I just wanted to check in with a quick hello from Beijing, where all is basically fine, though I'm now nursing a cold. It's cold here and so I'm trying to go out as little as possible till I feel better.

Dawn's dance competitions

The Dance/Cheer competition Dawn participated in back on Jan 13 went very well. The Fairport Dance Team only danced as exhibition, they were not judged since Fairport was hosting the competition. The Monroe County Dance/Cheer competition will be held this weekend, Jan 20 at the Blue Cross Arena downtown. The National Anthem is at 7:55 and the competition itself starts at 8 am and runs until 5 pm. The dance team will be judged this time around so pray for the FHS Dance Team!

Dear Wonderful Family,
The blog has had some action over the past couple of weeks thanks to the Turk Hill Road and the Mason Road Fitches. The rest of us better get on the ball! Hopefully you all received Sharon's new e-mail address while she is in China: swesoky@yahoo.com (I hope this is correct. If I am wrong, it should be on the e-amil that I sent you yesterday.) She arrived safely yesterday, will be there until June 1 working on her research. She will keep us informed of her research via her blog. She will send us all the information. Happy Blogging! Love you all, Mom

Mason Rd. reporting

Condolences to Jeanine on the passing of her Grandmother and safe travel downstate and home. Good luck to Sharon on your journey. Thanks for the info on the scarves - my friend, Anne, says the info was very helpful.
Work was a tough week - glad it's over - I think I will play hookie from work on Monday. You know, with the way the forecast looks, I believe if the kids did have school, they'd get a snow day on Monday. Oh well, at least it's finally getting here. Let's hope Cal gets to ski club on Wednesday.
Dawn, dance well - wish we could see you perform. I guess it's a go for next weekend for dinner - Cathie and John Wright want to be included. See you all then.
Jean

One more thing

I almost forgot! All our thoughts and prayers to Sharon for a safe journey to China and to Jim when he joins her over there - and a safe trip home!
Love you!
Connie, et al

Happy New Year from the TurkHill Fitches

Hello all -
Talked with dad last night and he is feeling better but Mom is struggling with a sinus infection. We are praying that they make full recoveries soon! Adding to the sick news....3 of the 5 of us had the stomach flu last week - but we are okay now.
News from the kids:
Dawn is participating in TWO dance competitions this month!
1 at Fairport High and the other at the Blue Cross Arena
Morgan received a Good Helper award at school just before Christmas break!
Robin is chattering away and has teeth coming in now!
All else is well and we think we have recovered from the very busy but wonderful holidays!
It was great seeing everone and hope it won't be too long until we are all together again.
Looking forward to Dad's birthday in a couple weeks!
Love to you all,
Connie, John, Dawn, Morgan & baby Robin

From the Mason Rd. Fitch's

Here is one of my New Year's wishes...everyone gets healthy! My parents are both down with a cold - so is Dad Fitch. I am still trying to get over mine. Antibiotics help a lot. Jim is still on crutches but managing well from the looks of things. Thanks to everyone for a fun filled Christmas celebration. We really appreciated all the great gifts. Mostly, we enjoyed being together. Mike and I can't wait till we get all together again.

Love,
Jean

Good evening everyone!
Well, we have all the lists except Peter's.....is anyone surprised? I think he does his last so that the person who has his name does not have time to think about what they are going to make him do! :-)

If you want to add anything to your lists, just email me.

If you have any questions about a person's list, you could blog it here - just don't put your name on the posting - and that person could post the answer here (or the parents could, if it's for one of the kids). That way, nobody knows who asked the question - so they don't know who has the name.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd!!
Connie :-)

Family Bloggers, where are you?????

Hello Dear and Wonderful Family,

We love you all. And we had a wonderful, nearly perfect, Thanksgiving celebration. It would have been perfect if our missing links had been present. However, knowing that at least some of our missing link were spending the time with family, makes our hearts sing and we are all right with that. We did have a great time. At least we (Mom and Dad) did! We still have little handprints on many surfaces to remind us of Jacob's presence - what a gift. We may never wash the glass again. (Oh we will, that could be construed to be an excuse!) It was a fun day and we were so glad that Denise and Erick were able to join us - another gift. We are indepted to everyone. You all made it possible. Thank you very much. It was great fun. Again, thank you all. It was also Thomas and Jeanine's 15th Anniversary...how many of you remember "The Van People"??? That was such a wonderful occasion, and "The Van People" even survived. There were questions as Grandma D and Dad tried to figure out how to get from the wedding to the reception. I won't go into that.
Well, next celebration is Christmas! And you all have your names. The challenge now is: GET YOUR LISTS TO CONNIE SO THAT SHE CAN SHARE THEM WITH THE REST OF US. Thank you. Remember, we are the parents/grandparents and it takes us longer to get things done!
Seriously, please send us the suggestions for your children - it certainly makes our lives easier and it probably is good for your children, too. Thanks - and don't forget!!!

News Item: Grandpa (AKA Dad) went to the Planetarium today with Cal's fifth grade class. Dad (aka Grandpa) said it was wonderful and he was happy to be with Cal and to have the experience. We think Cal thought it was really good, too. Cal and Katie are now getting off the bus at our house in the afternoon. We are trying to help them with their homework. Better pray big time - school today is nothing like it was when their Dad went to school. WHEW!!!!

I was so happy to read our Family Blog while we were in Florida. It really made me feel connected to all the ones I love most!
Remember to get your lists in to Connie! She will put them out (don't know the term!) but we will all find out. And, don't tell anyone whose name you have, especially Mogan!
God bless you all, we love you and we are so proud of all of you -
Mom, and Dad, too! AKA Grandma and Grandpa or AKA G&G Love you all!!!!!!

Shells from Madeira Beach

Hello Dear Family - Today is Jeanine's Birthday - Happy Birthday Jeanine!!!

I am trying to get to the blog - honestly, these computers require an awful lot of patience. And, I am checking this out while Dad, Aunt Ann and Uncle Dennis are waiting for me. We talked to Jeanine earlier and she indicated she had seen my blog and responded. I am trying to catch up with the response. Whether I do, or not, just know that I tried and that I love you all and we are looking forward to getting home. Vacations are wonderful, but there's no place like home!!!!

Hope you all are very well - God bless you all - we love you...And, would anyone have any use for shells???
I have picked up plenty - thought maybe I could send some to school - even do some kind of a project on them...any takers???

Like I said - God bless you, we love you,

P. S. Am I the only one blogging? Love you!!!!
Dear Wonderful Family,
Aunt Ann and I walked the beach today and discovered that not all shells are the same when walking the beach. Some of the ones we generally see were not there, and we were surprised to see that there was not the number of shells as we have experienced at the Madeira Beach in the past. Oh well!

We miss you all and hope that you are all taking good care of one another. In particular, we do hope that our grandkids are behaving and are being especially kind and respectful to their parents. (Remember grandkids, your parents are our kids and we will always be protective of our kids! You all know that we think you are the best grandkids in the entire world, and guess what? Your parents are our kids and that's part of what makes you so great!!!)

At any rate, the library is about to close and I have to cut this off -
God bless you, we love you all,
Mom and Dad - AKA Grandma and Grandpa

Vacation is going well....well, who knows!

Hello Dear Family,

I (Mom) am at the local library - eight minutes walk from Aunt Ann and Uncle Den's condo. I am trying to get into our family blog, but no luck! I am hoping that this message is going to our blog.
We are having a good time. Went to Busch yesterday - good thing that we went yesterday - it rained like mad today. The weather could be a tad warmer, but all is well with us. We are already looking forward to Thanksgiving and being with almost all of you. And, then we are looking forward to our Christmas Celebration of Family whenever it will be.
Seriously, if you read this, you know that I learned something. If you never get to read this, oh well! We are having a good time. We had a wonderful time with Aunt Lee and some of the Jim Hickey family. Aunt Phyllis is recuperating from major surgery, but some of Uncle Jim's kids were there. On of my cousins, Elaine, is just at the beginniing of chemotherapy for breast cancer. It was good to see her and also my cousins Janet and Karen. They have been taking turns helping Uncle Jim out while Aunt Phyllis was in the hospital and during her convalescence.
The beaches are still the same, but different - the same in that they are still there, and different in that there are different shells everytime we go. The only thing that would make for a more wonderful vacation is if we were sharing it with all of you. We have driven by the place we stayed so many years ago when we first came to Florida. It's still there. Almost a dinasour amongst the tall condo buildings that are surrounding it.
Well, the library is a out to close and nervous about people like myself that do not have cards, etc.
God bless you all, we love you,
Mom and Dad AKA Grandma and Grandpa

Catching up

Hello All-

I hope everyone's week is going well. I'm so glad the rain has stopped for now. I just returned fromSt. Michael School. It was visit a Catholic School day and they asked me to do tours. The only problem is we didn't have anyone come in. It looks like we need to do a better job publicizing this next year.

Say a little prayer for me tomorrow. At 9:oo I am meeting a husband and wife team that are Real Estate Appraisers about the possibility of becoming an appraiser myself. It's a business opportunity that presented itself and sounded interesting. It's a long shot but I quess if you don't talk to people you will never learn.

Dawn- sorry we missed your concert on Monday night. A.J. had Cub Scouts. I hope it all went well.

Sarah- I hope your week is going well. I haven't seen any new posts from you this week.

Aunt Jean- I hope you like the new van. Don't worry about filling up the tank. One tank should last you a lot longer than the Focus.

If the regulars are getting together this weekend, I am hopeful we can join you. Tom is working on Saturday but i believe Sat.evening we are free. On Sunday I have something going on from 2-4 but then am free.

Take care everyone and hope you are all having a great week.

Jeanine

Dear Wonderful Family, What a trip this blog is. I have sent things out, not to be seen again by myself, but I have read things that warm my heart and bring me great joy. Like I've said with the grandkids - who has the best grandkids in the world...We Do! That must be a reflection of the kids we produced with the grace of God. Thank you all. We love you and God bless. And, in regard to the blog, if anyone can share some wisdom as to where we go, what we do, feel free.
Love you all, Mom AKA Grandma
